Is it more expensive than hiring an Employee?

No.  You'll actually save money.  When you hire an employee, you'll pay for:

Salary

bullet

Legally required benefits such as:

Social Security

bullet

Unemployment Insurance

bullet

Worker's Compensation

bullet

Paid time off

bullet

Other benefits

bullet

Office space

bullet

Equipment

Furniture

It's expensive!  Not only do you have to pay for these expenses, you're paying for them during breaks and even when there's down time and little work for the employee to do.  Do you want to look for extra work for an employee whom you've guaranteed a set number of hours each week?

A Virtual Assistant is a business owner and professional.  VA's pay their own expenses, taxes, and benefits.  Your Virtual Assistant's time is 100% productive.  You pay only for the time you need...no downtime or breaks.

Virtual Assistants frequently offer two types of payment plans.  You might pay-as-you-go and pay for only the amount of work you actually have in a given month.  Another alternative is a retainer plan in which you pay a preset fee for a certain amount of the VA's time each month, usually at a discounted rate. Maybe you only need ten hours of your VA's time each month.  Maybe you need 20.  You decide based upon your needs.
